Cut the deficit in half by the end of 2012? Yes, I said that back in early 2009. Get real. I must have been drunk from the inauguration parties. What was I thinking?
Sure, the deficit is crazy out of control and it will be years before we can begin to cut the annual deficit, but what kind of politician says they’ll do something like that when there’s a full blown disaster recession going on?
A one term politician, that’s what kind.
In the past three years I’ve learned a few things. Politicians are liars. And Republicans are the worst kind of politicians. I’ve also learned that compromise is for wimps. There won’t be much of that in my second term.
